The Intensive Summer Research Program, or ISRP, is designed for current Pharm.D. students with these goals:
- Determining if a Ph.D. degree is the right path after Pharm.D. graduation
- Identifying a research mentor for the Ph.D. degree
- Exploring a research area of interest in the Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Gaining valuable research experience under the mentorship of COP graduate faculty researchers
ISRP is targeted to rising 2PD or 3PD students. Applications are accepted from current 1PD and 2PD students at UF’s College of Pharmacy and other ACPE accredited colleges of pharmacy. Students from other colleges of pharmacy or from other UF campuses wishing to do this program on the Gainesville campus should email PharmSciResearch@cop.ufl.edu in advance of applying.
This is an 8-week, full-time funded research program from May to July. Students are expected to dedicate full time to this program. All UF Pharm.D. student participants must request IPPE/APPEs In BLOCK 3.
The program includes active involvement in a research project, participation in journal club and laboratory group meetings, and presentation of the research project in a research forum.
This program is offered on all three UF College of Pharmacy campuses. Students must identify a research mentor from the UF College of Pharmacy graduate faculty and consult with them prior to applying to the program.
Students will receive a stipend but will not receive any academic credit.
ISRP applications will be reviewed and top candidates will be invited to interview in early January. Once selected, students will be provided an ISRP Participants Packet that includes the Faculty Mentor Agreement Form for completion.
Any questions about the application process or the research program should be directed to PharmSciResearch@cop.ufl.edu.
Note: Undergraduates interested in research opportunities can apply to the SURF program. Learn More here.
